1- WHAT IS IMMUNITY ?

The immune system represents the body’s defense line against infectious organisms, germs and other pathogenic microorganisms, through a series of steps called the immune response, thus maintaining overall health in the body and preventing infection. The immune system consists of a network of special cells, such as: blood cells White, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, stem cells, and antibodies, as well as a group of tissues and organs that work together to achieve the necessary protection.

                                              

2- THE ROLE OF IMMUNITY IN THE BODY ?

There are many functions that the immune system performs in the body, including the following: 

The body gets rid of pathogens, such as:  bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi, as it works to remove them. Detects and neutralizes harmful substances.
It fights against abnormal body cells, such as:
Cancer cells. Distinguish between healthy cells and bad cells in the body.

3- WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF IMMUNITY IN THE BODY?

There are three types of immunity in the human body, and they are as follows:
Fungal immunity: It is called natural immunity, and it is present in the human body since its birth. It provides general protection to the body and extends its protection to external parts, such as the skin, and mucous membranes.
Acquired immunity: It is called the adaptive immunity that the body acquires when exposed to disease and develops continuously, and it can be vaccinated through vaccination.
 Negative immunity: Immunity borrowed from another source that lasts for short periods of time, as the antibodies present in the mother's milk give temporary immunity to the diseases that the mother was exposed to.


4- HOW TO STRENGTHEN IMMUNITY ?

Food affects immune health in the body, and there are many foods that contribute to strengthening the immune system, including the following:

Citrus fruits rich in vitamin C, which is an effective anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, such as oranges and grapefruit. Ginger, which has anti-microbial properties, also helps in fighting viruses. Garlic, which improves the ability of immune cells in the body.
